In Feb, 2004, the twelfth mayor official meeting passed the Landbridge port’s address and coastline use right; in May, 2007, Administration of Ocean and Fisheries of Shandong Province awards 15.01- hectare sea use right in the breakwater to Landbridge; and in June, 2006, Landbridge port was listed in the total plan of Rizhao port.
According to the total plan of Rizhao Port, Landbridge port area will be built into a comprehensive deep-water port which mainly deals in the transportation of sundry goods such as crude oil, product oil, liquefied petrochemical products, ore and so on. Landbridge port area is divided into three operational zones: liquefied petrochemical operational zone, bulk cargo berth operational zone and deep-water berth operational zone. Among them liquefied petrochemical operational zone includes seven liquefied chemical berths of 5000-ton to 50000-ton; bulk and sundry goods operational zone includes five 50000 ton to 100000-ton berths, deep-water operational zone includes eight 100000-ton to 300000-ton berths, and we can build two 200 000 ton berths and two 300 000-ton berths in this operational zone.
Sea back-filling in Landbridge port area can form about 1333320- square meter land and our company has the ability to build liquefied chemical storage center of more than 6 000 000-cubic meters. And large liquefied chemical bulk products such as crude oil, fuel oil, wax oil, diesel oil, benzene can be stored in Landbridge port.
Landbridge port area has vast harbor and deep water, it is not frozen and clogged all the year round, and there is no frontal typhoon landing according to the weather record. With broad land and good geology, it is fit to develop 100 000 ton to 300 000 ton deep-water berths. The sea area where the port is located in is typical bedrock coastline. The seabed bedrock stretching to the sea has a big fall, and the water is deep; the sea area has a good geology condition, little silt and it has a weak sport intensity, so the port area can keep a good water-depth condition, and if we build deep-water berths in this area we have the advantage of good construction condition, short construction period and low invest cost. The breakwater and cofferdam use rubble mound accropode faced structure, there is little silt in port area, so it has low maintenance cost of waterway and harbor basin. The wharf used gravity caisson structure, compared to trestle open style structure which was used in and abroad, it has the advantage of more working days and more operation safety.
So far, Landbridge port area has built breakwater, cofferdam and barrier wave wall for 7300 meters, the total length of productive coastline is about 6200 meters; we have built a 30 000-ton berth and a 50 000-ton berth, and has finished breakwater project of 300 000-ton berth in deep-water berth operational zone; harbor basin and sea-route and dredging project has the navigable condition; the goods yards、roads、other periphery facilities in land area、accessory building of production and life is becoming perfect. And we plan to put it into use in 2008.
